Sweltering Tax Climate in NY
A statement by Assemblyman David DiPietro (R,C-East Aurora) on the Tax Foundation’s report naming NY 49th in Business Tax Climate.
“I am appalled by the business tax climate in New York and it is long past due that we are given a fighting chance. It is unacceptable to be ranked almost at the bottom in business tax climate in the country. How are we supposed to compete? Middle class families are already dealing with state oversight and their businesses being taxed into oblivion must end.”
“Our government oversight kills driven entrepreneurs, prevents farms from expanding, and limits business options throughout the state; unless of course if they’re handpicked by the governor. We are uncompetitive to an insane degree, not due to our work ethic or our values, but because our state government harms our ability to do business.”
“As a member of the Committee on Small Business and a co-sponsor on the Small Business Full Employment Act (A5423) I have fought and will continue to fight against government red tape. Whether it’s by reducing regulations and giving businesses the room they need to thrive or cutting taxes so that business owners can keep profits and jobs local, I will always stand by our local businesses and our economic freedoms.”
