Cuomo Happy To Keep New York Tax Heavy
A statement by Assemblyman David DiPietro (R,C-East Aurora) on Gov Cuomo’s response to tax plan.
“Gov. Cuomo is quick to shift blame to Washington when it’s abundantly clear that our state spending is out of control. New York’s budget is bloated beyond belief and we can’t afford to be the welfare bastion of the country anymore. He may be fine with paying for illegal alien’s free college from his ivory tower in Westchester, but hard working western New York families trying to put food on the table aren’t.”
“New York being one of the highest taxed states seems to be part of the plan, according to the governor in his recent NPR interview. Gov. Cuomo seems to be losing no sleep over taking more and more money out of our family’s pockets in taxes, instead of lowering them to create local economic growth. It looks to me that the Governor is more concerned with his national ambitions and imitating radical national socialists like Bernie Sanders than serving the millions of New Yorkers he’s beholden to. We need to look to our own state and lower our taxes so New Yorkers can compete nationally, not so we save face when compared to other so-called high-tax states.”
