DiPietro Calls for Special Session on Member Pay Raise

A statement by Assemblyman David DiPietro (R,C,I-East Aurora) on the New York Pay Commission legislative pay raise

“I am calling for a special session as soon as possible so that all legislators have the opportunity to vote on this pay raise. It’s laughable that this decision has been taken out of the hands of the people of New York. Our constituents deserve to have their voice heard on this matter, not have the Governor’s edict pass without a fight.”

“I will of course be voting no on the pay raise. Self-serving politicians and corrupt Albany practices should not be rewarded with a pay raise. You get a raise by doing the work of the people and helping the struggling people in your district. The delusional and money-grubbing Albany insiders do not deserve a pay raise. We must call a special session to vote down this outrageous grab for tax dollars.”
