DiPietro Announces Budget Priorities

Assemblyman David DiPietro (R,C,I-East Aurora) stood with the Assembly Minority Conference this afternoon in Albany to outline his budget priorities for the 2019-20 budget. The plan, ‘Budget Blueprint for a Better NY,’ calls on the governor and legislative leaders to enact common-sense, no-nonsense policies that would benefit all New Yorkers.

The measures outlined in ‘Budget Blueprint for a Better NY’ are:

•Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â  Make the 2 Percent Property Tax Cap Permanent

•Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â  Provide a Living Wage for Direct-Care Workers

•Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â  Keep the Middle-Class Tax Cuts on Track

•Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â  Increase Funding for CHIPS

•Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â  Increase Library Aid

•Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â  Provide Unfunded Mandate Relief

•Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â  Give Help to Small Businesses

•Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â  Improve the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) & Offer Student Loan Relief

•Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â  Call for a Hearing on Prison Closure Proposals

•Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â  Keep AIM Funding Levels & Processes Intact

“I’m immensely proud of the priorities on this list,” DiPietro said. “The Legislature has focused on illegal, pro-criminal, and anti-job policies all year so far; it’s far past time that we brought some real life common-sense proposals to the floor. I’m extremely dedicated to fight to make the property tax cap permanent and use my position on the Assembly Committee on Small Business to create a better atmosphere for our businesses to operate and grow. I can only hope the governor finally wakes up to the damage he’s doing to the state and stand behind these real proposals that would give New York a fighting chance again.”
