DiPietro Announces Budget Priorities
Assemblyman David DiPietro (R,C,I-East Aurora) stood with the Assembly Minority Conference this afternoon in Albany to outline his budget priorities for the 2019-20 budget. The plan, Budget Blueprint for a Better NY, calls on the governor and legislative leaders to enact common-sense, no-nonsense policies that would benefit all New Yorkers.
The measures outlined in Budget Blueprint for a Better NY are:
Make the 2 Percent Property Tax Cap Permanent
Provide a Living Wage for Direct-Care Workers
Keep the Middle-Class Tax Cuts on Track
          Increase Funding for CHIPS
          Increase Library Aid
          Provide Unfunded Mandate Relief
          Give Help to Small Businesses
Improve the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) & Offer Student Loan Relief
Call for a Hearing on Prison Closure Proposals
Keep AIM Funding Levels & Processes Intact
Im immensely proud of the priorities on this list, DiPietro said. The Legislature has focused on illegal, pro-criminal, and anti-job policies all year so far; its far past time that we brought some real life common-sense proposals to the floor. Im extremely dedicated to fight to make the property tax cap permanent and use my position on the Assembly Committee on Small Business to create a better atmosphere for our businesses to operate and grow. I can only hope the governor finally wakes up to the damage hes doing to the state and stand behind these real proposals that would give New York a fighting chance again.
