A New Budget for New York City and New Taxes for Upstate

A statement by Assemblyman David DiPietro (R,C,I-East Aurora) on the passage of the 2019-20 NYS budget.

“It’s another budget discussion and another disparity between New York City politicians and the rest of us. We’re taxed out of our homes, our businesses are tied up in red tape, and our projects and aspirations are ignored for obscene funding for downstate. The MTA gets almost quadruple the funding upstate roadways do and we’re expected to foot the bill. The one ray of light in all of this is the real property tax cap being made permanent. But I’d be hard pressed to call this budget anything but disastrous with only that being a positive.”
