DiPietro Stands with Gold Star Families

Assemblyman David DiPietro (R,C,I-East Aurora) recently came out in support of a bill granting tuition assistance for SUNY or CUNY students who are family members of a deceased service man or woman who died in the line of duty. In a statement, Gov. Cuomo also voiced his support of the legislation, saying he would sign the bill into law.

“I am stunned by Gov. Cuomo’s move to stand with Assembly Minority,” DiPietro said. “How you can justify spending $27 million to give illegal immigrants free college and not spend a few hundred thousand on the children of our fallen war heroes? This is simply unconscionable. To see even Gov. Cuomo recognize how disgusting this move is by the Assembly Majority and stand up for Gold Star families is frankly groundbreaking. I look forward to casting a vote in favor of this on the floor.”
