DiPietro Announces Memorial Day Veterans Salute

"American Chopper" stars to unveil custom bike dedicated to East Aurora Wall.

Assemblyman David DiPietro (R,C,I-East Aurora) announced today a series of events on Memorial Day in East Aurora featuring the stars of Discovery Channel's "American Chopper" as they unveil a custom motorcycle created to honor veterans of the Vietnam War. Donated by Sahlen Packing Co, the bike will help raise money for the planned Knox Farm State Park Vietnam War Memorial Wall.

Starting at 4 p.m. on Monday, May 27, the Aurora Theater will screen an episode of Discovery’s long-running reality television series American Chopper, featuring the design and build of the Vietnam Veterans Wall-themed bike. Attendees will also have an opportunity to witness the unveiling of the custom bike and participate in a meet-and-greet with Paul Teutul Sr., founder of custom motorcycles manufacturer Orange County Choppers, Sahlen Packing Co. CEO Joseph Sahlen, DiPietro, and leaders of area veterans’ service organizations.

The Village of East Aurora expects a crowd of motorcycle enthusiasts to attend the event and may close Main Street in front of the Aurora Theater to accommodate the bikers.
