This year we’ve experienced a monumental attack on our freedoms, values and our way of life here in Western New York. We’ve had the leftist-dominated Legislature pass bills supporting illegal immigrants, giving prisoner’s a luxury lifestyle, destroying the sanctity of our school system and now gutting the bail system to allow pedophiles and rapists to just walk out after being caught.

The new bail reform measures take effect on January 1 of next year. The bail reform changes would allow hundreds of ‘non-violent’ offenders to walk free of bail awaiting trial. Let me list some of the so called ‘non-violent’ offenses for you:

• Criminal sale of a controlled substance
• Manslaughter in the second degree
• Money laundering in support of terrorism
• Failure to register as a sex offender
• Promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child
• Aggravated cruelty toward animals

That’s not all of them, but those are some of the worst. It is indefensible that those charged with these crimes will be allowed to go free. These are some of the consequences of allowing liberals free reign in the legislature. Manslaughter is non-violent? What about failure to register as a sex offender? Promoting child pornography? This is simply disgusting, and I am disturbed that these are the priorities of the Majority politicians.

Watch out folks, come January 1 we’re going to have a whole new breed of criminal running around our streets. Flight risk is the new status quo for captured criminals, but hey, that’s just a sign of the times in the Progressive Paradise of New York.
