Our Individual Liberties Are Under Attack; It’s Time for a Vaccination Bill of Rights
Recent times have reminded us just how power-thirsty government really is. They closed businesses, schools and churches, placed the state on house arrest, and demanded the people comply with every mandate and order blindly and without consideration. It is time to put this to an end.
Our liberties are under attack and the attempt to implement a vaccination passport program is just the latest strategy for corrupt and irresponsible bureaucrats and officials to control the populace. No government has the right to force you to inject something in your body. Period.
It is past time for rational people to come together and fight for our individual freedom. That is why I have introduced legislation to the New York State Assembly to establish a vaccination bill of rights. My bill, A.07100 will take steps to fend off the left-wing attacks on our freedom by prohibiting them from making COVID-19 vaccination mandatory for New Yorkers, limiting civil liability for employers and prohibiting the requirement of a COVID-19 vaccination to engage in education, employment, travel or other activities.
This is 100 percent common sense. During the pandemic, we made countless sacrifices to protect ourselves and our neighbors from the effects of the virus. While we washed our hands and minded our distance, the state caught a taste for controlling every aspect of our lives. This bill is the first step in regaining some of the rights and normalcy that were stripped from us in the name of public health.
Requiring the public to get a vaccine in order to engage in everyday activities is not only unconstitutional, but wildly irresponsible. While the future of COVID-19 immunity looks promising, none of the available vaccines have undergone enough long-term research for many to feel comfortable receiving it.
There are many reasons why individuals may choose to hold off on injecting something into their bodies. Whether for medical, religious, allergies, or any other reason, the decision to undergo any medical treatment or procedure lies solely on the individual, not the government.
All people have the right to determine what is in their own best medical interest without threat of their livelihood, education or freedom of movement. I am urging everyone to support Assembly bill A.07100 to establish a vaccination bill of rights, limit the extreme government encroachment of our everyday lives and personal privacy and take back some of our freedom before it’s too late.
