McDonough Hosts Open House At Bellmore Office
Asks constituents to bring food to help families struggling through the economic crisis
Assemblyman Dave McDonough (R,C,I – Merrick) will be hosting an open house at his district office as part of his ongoing food drive to help families and individuals affected by the poor economy on Long Island and throughout New York. With the help of hundreds of people and businesses throughout the Nassau County community, McDonough has already collected hundreds of pounds of food, which have been donated to local food pantries and soup kitchens.
“I hope this open house will remind Nassau County that there are hungry people here in our community every day, not just during the holidays when most food drives are sponsored,” said Assemblyman McDonough. “The current economic crisis has affected thousands of families of all backgrounds and social dispositions. Now, more than ever, we must come together and help those in need.”
Assemblyman McDonough’s open house will be on May 16, 2009 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at his office located at 404 Bedford Ave. in Bellmore. He is asking that all who come by bring at least one non-perishable food item. His office will be providing refreshments to all who attend.
