Veterans Brunch A Community Success
Event hosted by Assemblyman Montesano, Assemblyman McKevitt and Assemblyman McDonough Honors Local Vets
On Saturday, September 10, Assemblyman Michael A. Montesano (15th District), in conjunction with Assemblyman Tom McKevitt (17th District) and Assemblyman David McDonough (19th District) hosted the Fourth Annual Veterans Brunch. Joined by veterans from across the three districts, the event was considered a success by each of the Assembly members.
“It is my honor to be associated with the great veterans of our community, and hosting an event in which we celebrate their service to our country is the least we can do,” said Montesano. “Joining together with my colleagues and veterans from across Long Island is a special moment and I am humbled to be a part of this event. These veterans fought to protect the freedoms that we enjoy every day and this is the least we can do to honor their years of service.”
“The community of Long Island is honored to have so many veterans call our region home,” said McKevitt. “Their years of sacrifice have provided us with the freedom it means to be American. With this brunch, legislators and community members have come together to honor those who served our country so bravely and remind them that we can never forget their service. I am honored to be joined by my colleagues to host this event to honor the sacrifice of the veterans of our Long Island community.”
“As a veteran of the United States Coast Guard and the United States Air Force, I was honored to co-host the veterans’ brunch recognizing our community’s veterans and the sacrifices each man and woman made for our country,” said McDonough. “This personally means a great deal to me and all those who continue to proudly serve. I would like to thank Assemblymen Montesano and McKevitt for all of their hard work in recognizing the contributions of these brave warriors.”
With approximately 150 veterans and family members in attendance, the event was heralded as a community success by Montesano, McKevitt and McDonough. The event was held at the Hicksville VFW in Hicksville, NY.
