Students Discuss Government With Assemblyman Dave McDonough
Assemblyman, students discuss role of government in everyday life
Assemblyman David G. McDonough (R,C,I-Merrick) recently joined the second and third grade classes of Harold D. Fayette Elementary School to discuss the role government plays in their everyday life.
“Students today deal with so many different issues than young people did just ten years ago,” said McDonough. “With the advent of social media and the ever-expanding role of the Internet, our children and grandchildren enter a different school environment than in years past. I’m doing all I can to ensure that school environments are a safe and friendly place, and we must make it a priority to provide teachers and students with the tools they need to gain a quality education. That’s why I fought for additional school aid for special-needs students and increased overall aid for Long Island schools.”
“I want to thank Mrs. Macko, Mrs. Petraglia, Ms. Otto and Mrs. Dziedzic for allowing me to join their classes,” concluded McDonough.
