Assemblyman Dave McDonough (R,C,I-Merrick) is seen with children from the South Shore Country Day School and their teacher, Holly Kearney, who have donated toys for the past four years.

With Christmas only days away, Assemblyman Dave McDonough (R,C,I-Merrick) today announced the success of his yearly holiday toy drive and thanked participants for their donations. McDonough sponsored a Toys for Tots drive at his district office and also delivered some donations to the John Theissen Children’s Foundation Toy Drive.

“I was very pleased with the success of our holiday toy drive this year and would like to thank the students from South Shore Country Day School for their continued donations and support,” McDonough said. “It is important to remember that not all families are fortunate enough to enjoy gifts at this time of year, and I was so happy about the outpouring of support we received. Your donations will go a long way toward helping local families enjoy a wonderful Christmas season.”

“The holidays are a special and cherished time of year that allows us to join family and friends to break bread, exchange gifts and take a break from our otherwise busy lives,” McDonough said. “There’s nothing like putting on that favorite Christmas movie and seeing the joy on a loved one’s face when they open a much-desired present. From my family to yours, I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!”
