Assemblyman McDonough Hosts Annual Assembly Summer Reading Program

Assemblyman Dave McDonough (R,C,I-Merrick) has announced the start of this year’s annual Summer Reading Challenge. The program aims to keep local students engaged in reading outside of the classroom during the summer. This year’s theme is “Imagine Your Story.” In order to complete the program, students must pledge to read at least 15 minutes a day for 40 days between July and August.

“I am happy to announce the start of this year’s Summer Reading Challenge,” said McDonough. “It’s crucial for young students to continuously develop their minds and expand their education both in and out of the classroom. It’s imperative that our young people engage in reading during the summer months in order to foster a successful and beneficial school year. As a longtime member of the Assembly Education Committee, our young learners continue to inspire and motivate myself and others around them.”
