Assemblyman David Weprin Statement on the Passing of Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown
Queens, New York Assemblyman David Weprin issued the following statement on the passing of Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown:
It is with great sadness that I join the Queens community to mourn the passing of District Attorney Richard A. Brown. Judge Brown had a prolific and unmatched career as a public servant in New York State during which he served as Counsel to former Governor Hugh L. Carey and as a judge on the New York City Criminal Court, State Supreme Court, and the Appellate Division before continuing his service to our City as a District Attorney. Serving as Queens District Attorney for nearly 28 years, Judge Brown continued to dedicate himself to public service and dutifully carried out his mission to make Queens a safer place until the very end. His passing is a great loss for the Borough of Queens and the legal community. Richard Browns passion and commitment will surely be missed and my condolences go out to his wife Rhoda, children, and grandchildren.
