Weprin Presents Proclamation to Dr. Sheldon Schwartz in Recognition of Centennial Birthday

Queens, New York – Assemblyman David I. Weprin presented an Assembly Proclamation to local community member Dr. Sheldon Schwartz in recognition of his Centennial Birthday at the JASA Holliswood Senior Center.

Born at his home at 35 Hinsdale Street in Brooklyn on July 21, 1919, Dr. Schwartz later played football for Richmond Hill High School and went on to graduate from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and NYU School of Medicine. After his education, he embarked on a long and successful career as a doctor; serving as the Chief of the Clinic of Arthritis and Rheumatism at Bellevue Hospital, Chief of Medicine at Hillcrest General Hospital, and the first Chairman of Rheumatology at Long Island Jewish Hospital. He and his current wife Marlene Wadler are members of the JASA Holliswood Senior Center and attend the Young Israel of Holliswood weekly.
