Barrett seated in New York State Assembly
Assemblymember Didi Barrett (D-Washington) was officially seated today in the state Assembly chamber in front of friends and family after being elected in a special election that took place on March 20. She will be representing the 103rd Assembly District, which was vacated by Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro.
“I am eager to hit the ground running to fight for the needs of Mid-Hudson Valley families,” Assemblywoman Barrett said. “These are hardworking families whose voices deserve to be heard, and I will make sure they get their fair share.”
Assemblywoman Barrett’s district includes the towns of Amenia, Beekman, Dover, East Fishkill, Milan, North East, Pine Plains, Pleasant Valley, Red Hook, Stanford, Union Vale and Washington in Dutchess County, as well as Ancram, Austerlitz, Canaan, Claverack, Copake, Ghent, Greenport, Hillsdale, Stockport and the city of Hudson in Columbia County.
“As a longtime resident of the Mid-Hudson Valley, I have had the distinct privilege of getting to know many of the area’s hardworking middle-class families,” Assemblywoman Barrett said. “I am committed to helping solve many of the issues these families currently face by focusing on real, tangible tax relief and working to create good-paying, local jobs. I look forward to representing them in Albany.”
