Capacity Zone Update: Revised Proposal Still Includes Rate Increases
April 29, 2014
“I continue to oppose the implementation of a new capacity zone in the Hudson Valley. The news today that the New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) has revised its original proposal is not enough; it still includes a definite rate increase. Whether it is four percent or ten percent, Hudson Valley families cannot afford the skyrocketing costs of energy, especially given the historically challenging winter we just experienced, and I urge FERC to reject the capacity zone proposal at their meeting on Thursday.”
