Smith On 2022 Session Wrap-Up

“Another year, another session ended with little meaningful impact for New Yorkers. We have real, tangible, immediate issues that were not addressed this session – rising costs thanks to inflation, surging gas prices barely offset by a miniscule gas tax pause, a baby formula shortage continuing to hamper young families – the list goes on and on. But rather than address the economic shortcomings our state is placing on our citizens, Assembly Majority lawmakers directed focus towards punishing police officers with further scrutiny and restrictions, and giving lawbreakers further passes by keeping bail reform in place.”
