Smith To Host Pet Food Drive

Assemblyman Doug Smith (5th District) announced today that his office is hosting a Pet Food Drive in partnership with The Harry Chapin Food Bank, operated by Long Island Cares. The drive brings together neighbors, friends and families to gather pet food donations for struggling Suffolk County families and their pets. The drive runs from February 7 to March 31.

“Long Island Cares and The Harry Chapin Food Bank both do wonderful work for Long Island families and all our beloved pets,” said Smith. “I am proud to be a part of this program and encourage everyone in my district who can make donations to stop by my office and help families and pets in need.”

The Harry Chapin Food Bank asks that all donations be unopened and in original packaging. Pet clothes, feeding bowls, cat litter and other pet supplies are also accepted. Those looking to donate can drop items off at Assemblyman Smith’s district office building located at 991 Main Street, Suite 202, Holbrook, NY during office hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
