Finch Calls for Extending and Strengthening of Megan’s Law

January 5, 2006

Assemblyman Gary Finch (R,C-Springport) during Tuesday’s meeting and press conference of Assembly minority members highlights vital data related to the January 21 expiration of a Megan’s Law provision that will allow certain lower-level convicted sex offenders to stop registering for the state Sex Offender Registry. Finch and his Assembly minority colleagues implored the Assembly majority to pass a bill requiring lifetime registration of all convicted sex offenders in the state, and followed with a request the measure be considered a priority for the new legislative session beginning January 9.
