Assemblyman Gary D. Finch (R,C,I – Springport), co-chairman of the Assembly Minority Statewide Forums on Workforce Issues in the Correctional System last week joined his Assembly Minority colleagues in hosting a forum to discuss ways to improve efficiency and safety in New York’s correctional system while preventing closures. Attendees involved in the correctional system provided testimony for Finch and his colleagues.

“Correctional officers work in an incredibly dangerous and stressful environment. Cutting staff and resources simply adds to that danger,” said Finch. “I am thankful for the many experts that I have heard from throughout these meetings. Their insight will help us come up with a solution to provide a safe environment for those that work in the system, as well as for the inmates.”
