Assemblyman Gary D. Finch (R,C,I-Springport) collaborated with his colleagues on the Insurance Committee this week to seek solutions to New York State’s rising auto insurance costs.

The members heard testimony from an array of stakeholders in New York’s auto insurance industry, including consumer groups, independent brokers, the Department of Financial Services and industry experts.

“I would like to thank Chairman Cahill and ranking minority member Barclay for holding this hearing today. It is imperative that our committee use today’s testimony to formulate sensible legislation to make auto insurance affordable for all New Yorkers,” said Finch. “Curbing the proliferation of no-fault fraud will allow insurance companies to pass along cost savings to motorists.”
