Ashby: NY Must Pass Only Budget Necessities during Health crisis

Statement from Assemblyman Jake Ashby (R,C,I,Ref-Castleton)
March 24, 2020

“Considering that New York is facing the exceptional challenge of managing the COVID-19 outbreak, the Legislature should focus on passing a budget which ensures government functionality and provides quality care to those affected by the virus, while delivering relief to the small businesses facing staggering hardships. This is not the time for the governor or the leaders of the Senate and Assembly to tuck controversial policies into the budget during a troubling health crisis. We are very close to the April 1 state budget deadline, and we all must act sensibly working together in these trying times.”
