Assemblyman Skoufis Announces Grant for Stony Point Senior Citizen Club Furnishings

June 26, 2018

Assemblyman James Skoufis (D-Woodbury) has secured a $5,000 grant to purchase 250 new folding chairs for the Town of Stony Point’s senior citizen clubs. The new upholstered folding chairs will replace old, damaged, uncomfortable chairs that need to be discarded.

“We thank Assemblyman Skoufis for obtaining these funds for us and taking our seniors’ safety into consideration,” said Town of Stony Point Supervisor Jim Monaghan. “We will no longer have to worry that someone will get hurt.”

“I make a point to visit the town’s senior clubs each year at the Rho Building,” shared Assemblyman Skoufis. “I know these clubs are an important part of the Stony Point community and they deserve to be treated as such. That’s why a number of years ago I secured a grant to replace their carpeting and I’m now pleased to deliver this grant that will ensure our seniors can continue to comfortably enjoy the many services the clubs offer.”
