“The resignation of Commissioner Howard Zucker is a welcome one. After what we went through as a state learning about the true nature of the tragedy that took place in our nursing homes last year and Zucker’s role in potentially covering up the true number of fatalities that occurred within them, it would be unconscionable for him to remain in his position. I hope his successor takes a more measured approach to the COVID-19 pandemic and avoids the implementation of mandates that stifle small businesses and affect the well-being of families and students,” said Assemblyman Jeff Gallahan (R,C-Manchester).
