South Queens, NY – On Friday, Assemblywoman Jenifer Rajkumar (D-AD 38) hosted a turkey giveaway at her District Office in Woodhaven, where she distributed over 400 turkeys to the people of her district. Every year Assemblywoman Rajkumar secures hundreds of turkeys for her district, and this year she secured and distributed a record number of turkeys, so that every family in her district can have a happy Thanksgiving.

Hundreds of Assemblywoman Rajkumar’s constituents formed a line stretching more than two blocks to receive their free turkeys. In under an hour, the Assemblywoman and her staff had given away all the turkeys.

The Assemblywoman enlisted numerous community organizations to volunteer for the event and help distribute turkeys, bringing the entire community together to share in the joy of giving. Volunteer groups included:

Assemblywoman Rajkumar said: “Every year, I am proud to secure hundreds of turkeys for the people of my district. This year, I distributed a record number– over 400. Daphney Paul, a constituent who received a turkey, said: “We are always delighted to hear from Assemblywoman Rajkumar. She brings so much to the district in a way we have never seen before. It is so great to have a turkey. This is more than a free Thanksgiving meal: it is a sign that we have a representative who cares and is always there for us.”
