Assemblyman Joe DeStefano (R,C-Medford) has introduced a resolution establishing the month of February as Library Lovers Month. The resolution highlights the essential role libraries play in providing free access to books, digital resources and learning opportunities, empowering individuals to achieve both academic and personal goals while fostering a lifelong love of learning.

“Libraries are more than just buildings filled with books—they are gateways to knowledge, inspiration and personal growth,” said DeStefano. “They provide critical resources that help individuals and families succeed, offering opportunities for education, exploration and community connection.”

Beyond their vast collections, libraries inspire curiosity and imagination. Their quiet, welcoming atmospheres encourage reflection and storytelling, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in literature, explore new ideas and engage in meaningful intellectual discussions.
