It was an honor to attend the Long Island Breast Cancer Forum at Farmingdale State College. Breast cancer affects many individuals in our community. It is not a partisan issue, it is a human issue, and all of us must come together to ensure that all New Yorkers have adequate access to the resources they need, DeStefano said. Education plays a key role in tackling this awful disease. Thank you to Sen. Martinez and Councilwoman Sweeney for presenting this informative forum.
The Stony Brook Cancer Center Mobile Mammography van was on site for the duration of the event to provide free screenings for individuals. Appointments with the Stony Brook Breast Cancer Center can be scheduled by calling 631-638-4134.
