Closed-door meetings, backroom deals, hidden agendas snuck into the budget: is this what our state government has actually come to? The lack of transparency throughout this whole process is just outrageous - especially while our state and the nation are in the middle of a public health crisis. Its appalling.
Funding for our veterans was slashed, school aid kept at a minimum and our small business relief package was left in the dark. Yet, public financing of campaigns, which some estimate could cost up to $100 million, changing our state flag and legal services for incarcerated felons were all included in a budget pushed forward by one-party rule. This is the priority of progressive Majority. In a time when we need to take care of our struggling residents, our one-party government continues to put its political agenda first.
