Sempolinski Directs $20,000 in Aid to West Valley Central
WEST VALLEY, N.Y.– Assemblyman Joe Sempolinski presented $20,000 in unrestricted state aid to West Valley Central School Superintendent Daniel Amodeo during a talk with students in Teacher Amy Brundage’s class.
“I’m very grateful to be able to provide this state aid to West Valley Central School,” Assemblyman Sempolinski said. “As I told Superintendent Amodeo and the students in Ms. Brundage’s class, I chose West Valley because it is a small district where this money will have a real benefit for the students, teachers and staff. They also face unique challenges because of the federal nuclear-waste cleanup at the West Valley Demonstration Project is in the district.
Superintendent Amodeo said the $20,000 will go toward upgrading technology infrastructure and safety improvements at the school.
“We are honored that Assemblyman Sempolinski took the time to visit West Valley Central School,” Mr. Amodeo said. “We are also truly grateful and appreciate the assemblyman’s work and support and for choosing West Valley to receive this additional $20,000 in state aid.”
This is the third $20,000 unrestricted grant award Assemblyman Sempolinski has designated for a school in the 148th Assembly District. He also presented $20,000 unrestricted grant awards to Jasper-Troupsburg Central School in Steuben County, which experienced catastrophic flooding in 2021 and 2024 forcing them to abandon their school building entirely and Whitesville Central School, the smallest school district in Allegany County.
“This aid is restricted to libraries or schools,” Assemblyman Sempolinski said. “When I thought about where this money would have a real impact and do the most good, Jasper-Troupsburg, Whitesville and West Valley were schools at the top of that list.”
