Mikulin Proud to Support Aid for Nassau University Medical Center
Assemblyman John Mikulin (R,C-Bethpage) was proud to stand with Sens. Steve Rhoads, Kevin Thomas and Patricia Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick, Assemblywoman Taylor Darling, Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC) Interim President and CEO Megan Ryan and local health care heroes at a press conference in Albany last week to support the call for aid in the state budget. NUMC is important to the 17th Assembly District and its residents because NUMC provides health care to all. Funding needs to be provided to NUMC so dedicated staff can continue to provide life-saving treatment.
“Many Nassau County residents rely on NUMC,” said Mikulin. “NUMC provides state-of-the-art health care and treatment to our indigent populations. NUMC has seen substantially reduced aid totaling over $300 million since 2017, causing a financial hardship that can lead to a health care crisis if not corrected. I call for the Governor to provide monetary aid to NUMC that will keep this remarkable medical center standing for years to come.”
