Mikulin: Glaring Inconsistencies in State Budget Proposal

A statement from Assemblyman John Mikulin (R,C-Bethpage) in response to the governor’s FY 2026-27 executive budget presentation for New York state.

“Measures the governor spoke about in her 2026-27 executive budget proposal highlight glaring inconsistencies in her list of priorities.

“For instance, while she spoke about cracking down on fraud to reduce insurance rates for New York drivers, her congestion pricing plan remains in place, subjecting drivers to excessive tolls. While the governor has helped make school meals free for students, she refuses to eliminate the unfunded, all-electric school bus mandate, robbing school district budgets and students of billions.

“The governor’s proposal must be heavily revised to address these inconsistencies and put New Yorkers’ needs first.”
