New York’s Budget: A Mixed Bag of the Good & the Bad

A statement from Assemblyman John Mikulin (R,C,Ref- Bethpage)

“This year’s state budget is a mixed bag with some good things, such as the restoration of funding for veterans’ mental health and making the property tax cap permanent but also a lot of bad, such as the lack of funding for our schools and libraries, especially when funding library construction. I’m still utterly appalled at the treatment of our police officers and the lack of attention to the debt New York is currently drowning in. I’m also concerned that I have not heard anything regarding the Grumman Plume despite the governor promising to address this issue at the beginning of the year. I plan on keeping a close eye on this to ensure Gov. Cuomo follows through on his promise.”
