Mikulin Disappointed in State Budget

A statement from Assemblyman John Mikulin (R,C,I-Bethpage)

“I am disappointed in much of what is to come with this budget. First and foremost, it is devastating to see a $2.5 million cut to our libraries, which are so vital to our communities by providing access to computers, a variety of programs and a vast source of knowledge. I’m also frustrated that while changes were made to bail reform, in my opinion, it didn’t go far enough. We should have repealed the bill all together and started from scratch. There were a few positives, such as the restoration of funding to some veterans’ services, but not enough to outweigh the bad in my opinion. Overall, we could have done much better for New York as a whole.”
