Mikulin: Session Cancelled but NYers Need Action
A Statement from Assemblyman John Mikulin (R,C,I-Bethpage
The news that session was abruptly canceled today reinforces the message New Yorkers have been hearing loud and clear for weeks from lawmakers: they would rather not work and continue to empower this governor than to stand up to him. It is shocking, especially amidst all the scandals, deaths and the latest back-to-back sexual harassment allegations. I am disappointed in my colleagues across the aisle, just as are so many New Yorkers across our state. Rather than come to work and face a vote on ending his emergency powers, they are continuing to hide in conferences that could have been held at any time throughout these last weeks. I don’t know what more needs to come out about this governor to move them to act, but I hope they will take action quickly for the betterment of our state.
