Lemondes Congratulates Onondaga Legislature for Passing Additional Flood Prevention Funding
Assemblyman John Lemondes (R,C,I- Lafayette) recently congratulated the Onondaga County Legislature for passing additional flood hazard prevention funding, an initiative that is now allocating an additional $100,000 to fight potential flooding and flood damage in the region. Lemondes knows this funding will go a long way toward ensuring a sense of security for the community and provide help to those looking for support.
“Onondaga should be very proud of its local legislative leadership, as these funds will go a long way toward servicing the community,” Lemondes said. “Flood damage in more rural regions like ours is a constant concern, and with shifting weather conditions coupled with an aggressive winter on the way, this kind of forward-thinking preparedness is exactly what we needed from our local government. I’m proud of the work that’s been done in this initiative.”
“As we prepare for the impending challenges of sleet, snowfall and freezing temperatures this winter, oftentimes aggravated by intense flooding, I’ll be available to help constituents and local communities coordinate their winter protective needs,” Lemondes concluded.
