Lemondes Supports Blackrock’s Decision to Drop Woke ESG Proposals
Assemblyman John Lemondes (R,C-LaFayette) applauded the investment management company Blackrock for its decision to reduce endorsements of the Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) policies. These standards imposed by the ISS have forced companies to comply with radical left-wing political agendas and, in return, lowered shareholder values. Lemondes is happy to see companies turn away from these radical ideologies and put their consumers first.
“Blackrock is setting a new standard for companies going forward,” said Lemondes. “Businesses are finally waking up to the woke agenda and exposing it for what it really is. These policies have brought down investment values for residents across Central New York who are simply trying to save for retirement and create a better future for their families. These changes will help to restore confidence in our financial institutions across the district. I hope that we will continue to see more companies follow in Blackrock’s steps in the future.”
