Lemondes Attends the Arc New York’s Western Region Legislative Town Hall
Assemblyman John Lemondes (R,C-LaFayette) took part in the Arc New York’s Western Region Legislative Town Hall yesterday. The event was a non-partisan, virtual meeting to go over the organization's budget priorities, provide information on the impact support and services have for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and discuss the importance of lawmaking in the fight for change. Families, advocates, Chapter boards and The Arc New York State Office also attended this meeting to create an open dialogue with elected officials.
Lemondes has been a strong advocate for individuals with disabilities. In the Assembly, he has supported numerous proposals to fight against discrimination in the workplace (A.2596) and provide employment for those with disabilities (A.441). Lemondes was proud to attend this meeting and is committed to continuing to stand up for the needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Central New York.
“Meetings like those the Arc New York has been holding are vitally important for moving the needle and giving individuals with disabilities the care and support they need,” said Lemondes. “I’m proud to stand with this organization and the families involved to have these conversations and bring much-needed change to make sure this community has the resources it needs to thrive.”
