Lemondes Attends Meeting for Skaneateles Lake Association
Assemblyman John Lemondes (R,C-LaFayette) attended a meeting last week with the Skaneateles Lake Association. Lemondes spoke with members on the importance of protecting the Finger Lakes region and highlighted his record of securing funding for freshwater resources in the state Assembly. In this year’s state budget, Lemondes successfully pushed for the inclusion of funding for the Finger Lakes-Lake Ontario Watershed Protection Alliance (FLLOWPA). While this was a key victory for environmental conservation in the region, Lemondes is steadfast in his commitment to protecting these vital ecosystems.
“Central New York’s freshwater ecosystems are among our region's greatest resources and they must be protected,” said Lemondes. “Earlier this year, I successfully fought for funding to protect the Finger Lakes in the state budget. The work, however, has just begun. Meetings like this are crucial to ensuring these waterways are taken care of. I will continue to be a strong advocate for our freshwater resources in Albany and I encourage my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to support these types of initiatives to keep our environment safe and clean for generations to come.”
