Lemondes Celebrates Farm Tour Day with Lt. Gov. Brian Benjamin
Assemblyman John Lemondes (R,C,I-Lafayette), a longtime advocate for New York’s farmers, was thrilled to participate in yesterday’s farm tour with the lieutenant governor, organized by local farmers and representatives alike. Lemondes believes most people don’t really have a good understanding of the kind of work that takes place on a farm, and to have state leadership understand is paramount to ensuring New York’s farmers are well looked after.
“I’m glad the current executive office is bucking the habit of past governors and actually visiting our local farms,” Lemondes said. “Farming is foreign to so many in office, and yet it is the backbone of our state’s economy and workforce. Having Lt. Gov. Benjamin here today was a great opportunity to get to know each other better, as well as educate each other about the needs of the people we represent.”
