Assemblymember Jonathan Jacobson (D-104) recently announced $250,000 in funding to support improvements to the Family Partnership Center (FPC) in Poughkeepsie. The money will be used to install new, fire-retardant doors throughout the building.

“The Family Partnership Center is an anchor in Poughkeepsie’s Northside, which houses many not-for-profits providing a range of services to local residents,” Jacobson said. “Unfortunately, the FPC is in a 110-year-old building, originally Poughkeepsie High School, and requires constant renovation and maintenance. So I was glad to secure $250,000 for the purchase of fire-retardant doors to help keep the building up to code.”

“Family Services is grateful to have the support of Assemblymember Jonathan Jacobson for this critical project,” said Family Services CEO Leah Feldman. “We so appreciate his encouragement, foresight and care for projects that affect the Family Partnership Center and the residents of the City of Poughkeepsie.”

The Family Partnership Center provides community services and programming to local residents using a co-location model that allows for better collaboration with various nonprofits and other organizations also housed in the building. This includes Dutchess Outreach, the Hudson Valley Justice Center, Dutchess Community College, a branch of the Poughkeepsie Public Library, and Sun River Health, among many others.
