Assemblyman Lentol Visits Transmitter Park Mural Celebrating Climate Week NYC

October 7, 2016

Assemblyman Joe Lentol (D-North Brooklyn) visited the site of the forthcoming The Greenest Point mural at Transmitter Park. The mural is a collaboration between The Greenest Point (www.thegreenestpoint.com), Pearl Realty Management (owner of the wall) and FAILE (artist).

Lentol, a staunch advocate of The Greenest Point, was instrumental in securing the permitting need for the project to be completed in time for Climate Week NYC, which culminates this weekend.

“I am thrilled to see the progress that is being made on the mural. It truly speaks to the environmental woes that Greenpoint and Williamsburg have faced over the years. The mural brings awareness to our responsibility as stewards of our planet. I am certain that the placement of this mural in Transmitter Park will change a young child’s perspective on the environment. Mission accomplished,” Lentol said.

The Greenest Point is a sustainability awareness raising street art project presented by Greenpoint Innovations. It will feature interactive elements that will highlight environmental issues by integrating art with technology, film, sound & public voices. The project will also feature a mural by internationally acclaimed artists Askew1 and Vexta in a different location.

“Thanks to The Greenest Point, Pearl Realty Management, and FAILE for their commitment to the community and for brining attention to this important issue,” concluded Lentol.
