Assemblymember McMahon to Sponsor Citizen Preparedness Program
Assemblymember Karen McMahon (D-Amherst) is once again partnering with the New York National Guard and the New York State Office of Emergency Management to present a Citizen Preparedness Training program.
The event will take place at the Harlem Road Community Center at 4255 Harlem Road in Amherst on Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 3pm to 5pm. In addition to each family receiving an emergency preparedness kit, attendees will learn how to:
- Develop a family emergency plan and stock up on supplies before a potential disaster
- Utilize tools and resources needed during a man-made or natural disaster
- Respond and recover as quickly as possible during an emergency
“With severe weather events becoming more frequent, it’s paramount that Western New Yorkers and community members are fully prepared,” said Assemblymember McMahon. “The New York Citizen Preparedness Training program is a great resource for disaster readiness, safety, and recovery.”
