McMahon: NYSDOH Issues ‘Statement of Deficiencies to Comprehensive Rehab of Williamsville
“This week, I joined Senator Jeremy Zellner and Williamsville Mayor Christine Hunt for a constructive meeting with the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) to discuss the ongoing concerns at Comprehensive Rehab of Williamsville. Following our discussion, today the NYSDOH issued a Statement of Deficiencies to the facility outlining several very concerning issues that were identified during an on-site investigation conducted recently. The noted deficiencies include leaks in the roof that have negatively impacted the health and safety of residents, and are deeply troubling. The facility is now required to develop a remediation plan that must be submitted to and approved by the NYSDOH.
“I am grateful to the families who brought these serious conditions to our attention. Their advocacy enabled my office to promptly notify the NYSDOH and request an immediate investigation and clear path toward resolution. After the Department’s thorough review, steps are now being taken to ensure the facility addresses these deficiencies.
“Senator Zellner, Mayor Hunt, and I have requested regular updates from the NYSDOH and will continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure meaningful progress in the days and weeks ahead.”
