Assemblymember Karen McMahon (D-Amherst/Pendleton) announced that she hosted a “Valentines for Vets” event, helping children from the Clearfield Youth Center after-school program honor local veterans.

“Veterans deserve all the thanks we can give for the sacrifices they’ve made to keep our nation safe,” McMahon said. “I was glad to see so many kids eager and ready to make Valentine’s Day special for some of our veterans here in Western New York with beautifully decorated cards. This event was a wonderful opportunity for our children to ensure veterans know they’re always in our thoughts.”

The children colored cards for local veterans earlier this week, which McMahon delivered to Elderwood Village in Williamsville on Valentine’s Day.
