Brown: Donate Life New York State Saves Lives
Assemblyman Keith P. Brown (R,C-Northport) joined his colleagues in the Assembly and Senate, representatives from Donate Life New York State and members of the community at a press conference in Albany on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, to celebrate Donate Life Month in New York state. Students who participated in the 2025 Donate Life Month Student Art Contest were honored, and their incredible artwork was on display at the presser.
Currently, there are nearly 8,000 patients in New York state on the national organ transplant waitlist, and each year, thousands die while waiting for a transplant because a suitable donor was not found in time. Brown encourages all New Yorkers to register to Donate Life New York State to increase the donor pool to help those in need. Just one organ donor can save eight lives and heal 75 more through eye and tissue donation.
“Registering as organ, eye or tissue donors and participating in the Donate Life New York State program is a great way to celebrate Donate Life Month,” said Brown. “Millions of New Yorkers are already registered as donors, but thousands still remain on the waitlist for donations. Help increase the donor pool for children and families in need by registering today!”
