Assemblyman Kevin Byrne (R,C,Ref-Mahopac) was pleased to introduce Susan Salamone and Eileen New from Drug Crisis in Our Backyard to the Assembly floor on Tuesday, Feb. 11. Joining him in introducing the local women whose organization advocates for people affected by addiction was Assemblywoman Sandy Galef (D-Ossining).
It was an honor to meet and introduce these amazing women to the Assembly, said Byrne. Both Susan and Eileen are a huge asset to our community as they play a critical part in the fight to destigmatize addiction and expand access and training for naloxone treatment. Having worked with Drug Crisis in Our Backyard in the past, I can truly say this is a wonderful organization which helps touch so many lives. I look forward to continuing our work together as we all fight back against this terrible disease.
