Assemblywoman Kimberly Jean-Pierre Announces ‘Women of Distinction Awards’ Event

Assemblywoman Kimberly Jean-Pierre (D-Babylon) announced her first annual “Women of Distinction Awards” ceremony. The event will honor women in the 11th Assembly District who have contributed to the growth of the community or simply impacted the life of another individual. Residents are encouraged to nominate women who they believe should be recognized for their outstanding excellence, contribution and service to the community.

“As we celebrate Women's History Month and reflect on the progress women have made, we must also remember to honor the exceptional women who continue to make a difference in our world today,” Assemblywoman Kimberly Jean-Pierre said. “Please join me and nominate a mother, sister, wife, colleague or friend who has gone above and beyond their profession to ensure a better life for you and our community.

In conjunction with Women’s History Month, nominations can be made online throughout March and must be received by Friday, March 27. All nominees must reside in the 11th Assembly District. Winners will be selected, recognized and presented with an award at the awards ceremony on Thursday, April 9th at 6:30 p.m. at Copiague Memorial Public Library

In addition to the awards ceremony, Assemblywoman Kimberly Jean-Pierre is holding a Women’s History Month Art Contest. Students who submit an entry could have their artwork featured on the cover of next year’s activity booklet. For more information about the contest, including submission guidelines and deadline, contact your local school district or Assemblywoman Jean-Pierre’s office.
