Assemblywoman Jean-Pierre: We Must Act Now to Preserve Our Planet for Future Generations
“Each year, Earth Day reminds us that we have a responsibility to safeguard our state’s natural beauty for future generations to enjoy. We simply can’t take clean air and water for granted – we must do our part to protect these precious resources. A clean environment shouldn’t just be a privilege for the rich – everyone has a right to live and raise their family in a healthy environment. From making changes in our daily lives that reduce our carbon footprint, to passing bills that protect the natural resources we depend on, there are steps big and small we can take. We also need to fight back against the big companies that pollute our waterways and release chemicals into the air we breathe. The legislation I passed today will help us protect our environment and our communities, while advancing our statewide clean energy goals.
“Fresh air, clean water and healthy soil are the building blocks of life. It’s our responsibility to act as stewards to ensure future generations can grow up happy and healthy. We must turn the tide on the damage that’s already been done and act now to protect our planet from further harm.”
